Staying Safe on Bonfire Night

For the first time in a long while, organised bonfire displays have been cancelled throughout the city.

For safety reasons Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) normally encourage children to attend organised, safe displays. This year, more than ever, they want to help our community remain safe during the bonfire period and in particular our children and young people.

We want to avoid an increase in ‘home built’ fires and fire setting activities.

Normally during this period Humberside Police and Humberside Fire & Rescue help to deliver a presentation to local schools highlighting the dangers and consequences of playing with fire. This year they are asking for our help in communicating these key messages on their behalves.
