St Mary's College Awarded Trinity Champion Centre status
7th June 2021
St Mary’s College has been named as a Trinity Champion Centre 2021/22 for their successful delivery of Trinity College qualifications in Music.
Trinity College London is a leading international exam board and independent education charity that specialises in the assessment of communicative and performance skills covering music, drama, combined arts and English language.
Trinity Champion Centres inspire other organisations by sharing their practice and advocating for accreditation in their communities and more widely.
Andrew McIntosh, Head of Peripatetic Music Teaching celebrates this exciting development for the college's Academy of Music & Performing Arts, “We are delighted to have been chosen by Trinity College London to be part of this exciting programme. We have over 50 students from across the St Cuthbert's Trust preparing to take an exam in the next few weeks, including four at Grade 8 level. We look forward to expanding our offer over the coming year, as well as supporting other centres in the area too.”
Head of School David Perry added his delight at the award of this status, “St Mary’s College is proud to be recognised as a centre of excellence for music and the arts. We remain committed to widening access and engagement within our Trust community and beyond and welcome the opportunity to further promote this agenda as a Trinity Champion Centre.”
