23rd September 2019
Judges from the Rotary Club of Holderness met recently to complete the daunting task of making decisions on the 120 entries to the 2019 Young Artist of the Year competition.
The awards this year included 1st, 2nd, 3rd across most categories and Specially Commended in all categories.
The following students from SMC were selected to receive an award: Merle Adamson, Oliver Noyes, Hollie Darnell, Luke McKenzie, Memory Mazamble and Elouisa Tutty.
What a good year it turned out to be!
- Elouisa Tutty and Memory Mazamble were awarded 1st and 2nd in the KS5 category
- Hollie Darnell’s book cover was 2nd in the 3D/Sculpture category
- Oliver Noyes took 3rd place in the KS3 category
The Presentation Evening took place Hull Central Library on September 11th where award winners, staff, other students and families were in attendance.
All who entered received a certificate confirming that their entry was selected for exhibition in this year’s Young Artist event. All entries also formed part of an exhibition at Hull Central Library in early September.
Congratulations to all SMC winners and entrants.
