Remarkable results for SMC students in GCSE exams
25th August 2022
Flying in the face of a national fall in GCSE top grades, St Mary’s College students are celebrating a bumper crop of exceptional marks in this year’s GCSE and BTEC examinations.
Head of School, Mrs Maria Stead is delighted with the outcomes:
“In a year where students have still had to contend with Covid and its ongoing aftermath, the students at St Mary’s College have achieved amazing, world class results.
I am extremely proud of all our young people who had to sit public exams after several years of adversity and interrupted schooling. These results reflect the tenacity and exceptional effort of our students alongside the relentless support and hard work of staff at SMC. I would also like to thank families for their support.
I firmly believe that these results offer our students the best possible chances of success in their chosen future pathways. I want all our students to know how overjoyed I am for them.
These results are testament to our vision that “ordinary people, working together, can achieve extraordinary things.” Nowhere is that belief played out stronger than at St Mary’s College today.”
